The design space is finally in my head. I understand the technical—the tangle of tradeoffs, what is possible, how choices of what to do first unfold the solution tree. I understand what has come before, why and think I understand why my part of design space is still unexplored. It's been a while since I've been here; this is a good place. Here, the magic of creativity reigns. The space of social and political possibilities is still mostly dark, lit only by reflections of past attempts. Soon it will be time to light that space, learning what the world might be when creativity meets the magic of understanding and compromise. That too is a good place.
