Last week was an IESG efficiency retreat then San Francisco with Margaret . We were not very efficient at retreating. We did at least manage to have hotel arrangements concluded by the time we arrived. The time with Margaret was wonderful.

On the way home from the airport, my cab was playing a "news" talk show talking about how Muslims should be stripped of their rights as citizens and deported. The cab driver turned up the show and told me I had to listen. "What do you think," I asked. "He's teaching hate," he said. He then went on to explain that this was good; we had too much freedom here in America and we needed to learn hate so we would be less vulnerable.

Since returning I've had a relatively relaxing weekend. However I'm not getting out enough. I need to find a way to be social and meet people. This weekend probably would have been an ideal time to go to a party, but I am behind enough on IETF stuff that I actually needed to spend today working.

I'm going to loose by Godwin's Law here, but replace "Muslim" with "Jew" and it's Germany 1933 all over again. That is not a good thing.
